ONLINE: Dragon's Den - A Real Experience

Geovation member George Hintzen was recently on BBC's Dragons' Den with a successful pitch for his business TOAD.ai. After a tense discussion, he raised £100k investment from Tej Lalvani, a long-standing Dragon, supplement magnate, and CEO of Vitabiotics.Join us for a talk and Q&A with George around his experience on the TV show. "Going on Dragons' Den was an amazing experience, and very unlike anything I'd done before. It required sustained composure and considered answers in front of the Dragons, and also during other interviews over a long day of filming. In the weeks before and after filming, due diligence was also a taxing exercise, as both BBC and investor teams had to make sure that the business stacks up. The application process is fairly simple, and if you're an entrepreneur, I'd highly recommend downloading the application form on the BBC website to at least have a quick look. It's likely unfamiliar territory for many people, and a lengthy process, but just maintain focus, and put one foot in front of the other. It's also not just about the investment, and the credibility and attention that it generates is very powerful." TOAD.ai - The Outdoor Advertising Directory - combines advertising signage and geospatial data to select optimised locations to reach target audiences.George presented his business TOAD.ai on BBC Two on 29th March 2020. You can still watch it on YouTube or BBC iPlayer.
